Oespensky's dream

Q Your reply reminds me of a book called " The strange life of Ivan Oskin" by " P.D. Oespensky" gave book away a while ago so I hope I spelled that right. Anyway the story is about a guy who makes a few mistakes in life and gets a chance to go back in time a "fix" it all up. I think he goes back 13 years? He wanted to go back for about 4 years but the magician he met said he had to go back longer as part of the deal. He ended up making all the same mistakes as before. Untill eventually, he was back at the magicians door inquiring about being sent back in time. He also had no recall of his first encounter with the magician...it was as if he never was

How are we to understand and become aware of the agreements between ourselves? I've only had one lucid dream and it wasn't very enlightening. It was a long time ago and precipitated a life ;ong adventure into the astral. I used a method by Castinada of looking at my hands, seems to work pretty good but once again, no insigt

I will work with your method and report the results. For whatever reason it always seems to get back to the "does it really matter" I mean does it? Who gives a flying fuck? I'm all about living the dream but I wonder at times about all the suffering.
I guess at the core I would say I want to help people and the planet but then again I have selfish thoughts and deeds so I must admit I am a big hypocrit and lier. This is what I have to work with and through. I guess there is always now 2.

A These questions are 'unanswerable' in the sense they can only be answered by yourself when you experience the emptiness of the mind. That is because there is something else besides the mind there. Disassociation from the body, Castaneda's trick, has a drawback in that your vision is informed by your disturbed mind. You leave the body but your mind is still active. Now that the senses are quiet, the reality vibrates in sync with your thoughts. What you see is your reflected mind mixed w/astral

in Yoga there are the 5 sheaths. One of the final inner sheaths is the Bliss sheath. This is the covering over the atma. There is only bliss inside this sheath. But it requires that the mind be quiet, otherwise your perception is outside the sheath. The purpose of lucid dreaming is make the mind recognize that what it worries about is worrying about a dream that will disappear sooner than later. Why worry about something that is going to disappear? Ever gone by an empty lot, recently cleared?

It does not matter what was there, only that it seemed to solid and present. Now it is gone. That appeared to be reality, but was actually a dream object. There is a whole patchwork of dream objects that seem real now, but will be gone sometime in the future. These dream objects are whole cities, with people and cars and everything. How much attention should you give these objects? What if you were going to wake up in the next few hours? How about 5 minutes from now? 10 seconds?

You become more aware of these agreements that you have made as your mind detaches from desires. When you see the objects around you as more dreamlike then the agreements become more clear. You have to agree with other people all the time, otherwise the reality starts to unravel. Everybody has to agree that this is the reality over and over again. You can see how much consternation was caused when Copernicus said the earth revolves around the sun. He questioned the reality that the church had.
